Good weekend

We had a great time in Auburn this weekend. It always goes by too fast. Friday night we had dinner with my family....my Dad made an awesome steak dinner...he is the best chef in the world. Matt was in Spokane for work, but we celebrated with Kelly...they are having a boy! Caleb Joseph McAllister......very cute!

Saturday we took the dogs to our rally trial. Ryan and Josh finished their rally novice title, with a 96/100 and 1st place! McKenzie and I were competing in rally advanced for the first time, all off leash, but she got 99/100 and a 1st place! Once I scan our win picture I will post it.

We had dinner at the claim jumper with Kim, Cami, Liz and Elisabeth...good times! I hadn't eaten there in years, and Ryan had never been. He even finished the motherlode sandwich! We had a great time...I don't see those ladies often enough!

Sunday we went back for another day in rally. The dogs were tired and distracted, but still both qualified in rally advanced, winning third and fourth place. We actually tied for third, but McKenzie and I were faster, so we beat Ryan and Josh, and they were 4th place:)

This week starts the 6 month count down, and our virtual personal trainer has let us know our training schedule for the week! It is actually less than we are capable of, so that gives me hope that we won't die during the 60 miles. Ryan has Saturday off, so we are going to do a big walk. Hopefully the weather cooperates. Its been pretty warm, but that tri-cities wind will get you! Supposed to be 40mph gusts today.

Don't forget to donate to our fundraising! You can get to my page by the link on the right, or Ryan's at the bottom of the page. Any amount will help. $5...$10...$20...$100! Thanks so much!

Fundraising Kick-off

Ryan and I officially starting hitting people up for donations....if you haven't been asked yet, no worries, we'll get there! We have lots of fun ideas that we are putting together, other than just asking everyone we know for money...

We didn't get a chance to do much training the last week, as I had an awful cold all week, and am just starting to be able to breathe again. We did go swimming a few times, but nothing too strenuous. Swimming is the best physical therapy for my arm....which is getting so much stronger!

There is definitely a lot going on for us in the tri-cities! Ryan and i are working on a vegetable garden and our yard. We are planting more pasture grass for the horses, we planted new roses, and bought some wine barrels to plant flowers in. Ryan is working the horses, trying to get the spring fever out of them. We are training with the dogs too...we have a rally trial in Auburn next weekend. Rally obedience is a big ring with lots of signs with instructions on them. You and your dog go in and follow the course and do what the signs tell you. McKenzie has her Rally Novice title, and so we are competing in Advanced, which is all off leash. Josh and Ryan need one more qualifying score in Novice. We are also training for agility and regular obedience.

We are both working full time- Ryan for the Benton County sheriff and me in children's mental health.

It is a very exciting week for Matt and Kelly....we find out if they are having a boy or girl!!! And next week, we find out if Shauna and Noah are having a boy or girl! A very exciting week for my family!

6 months to go!

It's official! Ryan and I are registered for the Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk in Seattle. We will walk 60 miles over a 3 day weekend....yep, that is 20 miles per day!! We are so excited to be doing this together. Our walking dates are September 11-13th.

We are starting this blog to share our 6 month journey to the 3 day walk...you can keep track of our training and our fundraising! We each need to raise $2300...no problem right? If you have fundraising ideas, let us know! There is also a link on this page to each of our fundraising webpages.

We are supposed to train for more than just walking, so Ryan and I have gotten a head start to our training. We have been hiking Badger Mountain, doing step aerobics, strength training and swimming at our gym, the Columbia Basin Racquet Club.

Wish us luck!
